Category 2 is internal connections, basic maintenance of internal connections and MIBS including, but not limited to:

- Wi-Fi Software
- Managed Wi-Fi Services
- And the maintenance of these eligible products

Wi-Fi on Busses
Starting with the 2024/2025 E-Rate funding year, school bus Wi-Fi will be eligible for E-Rate support. You can find that ruling here.
Wi-Fi Hot Spots
Starting with the 2025/2026 E-Rate funding year (July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026), the FCC and USAC have made Wi-Fi hotspots and mobile wireless internet services eligible for E-Rate support for off-premise use. The final Order can be found here.
